What we teach
IELTS Preparation Tutoring
IELTS is a test of test technique as much as of English. Candidates plateau not because their English stops improving but because they keep making the same band-limiting mistakes, unseen and uncorrected.
Lessons start with a full diagnostic across all four skills to find where the band is actually being lost, then target it. Writing Task 2 and Speaking are usually where the gains are, because both are marked against criteria that can be taught directly.
We prepare candidates for both Academic and General Training, on paper and computer-delivered formats.

In the lesson
What a lesson actually looks like
A diagnostic first lesson
The tutor works through a short set of problems to find where understanding actually breaks down — which is usually one or two topics earlier than the one causing trouble in class.
Teaching, then practice under exam conditions
Concepts are taught from first principles on the shared whiteboard, then applied to past-paper questions from the student's own board, timed and marked against the real mark scheme.
Feedback the student can act on
Each lesson ends with what went well, the specific technique to fix, and targeted practice before the next session. Parents get regular progress updates.
IELTS Preparation tutoring starts from USD 15 per hour. See all plans.
FAQ
IELTS Preparation tutoring — your questions
How long does it take to move up a band?
Realistically, moving half a band is often achievable in a few weeks when the loss is technique-related; a full band on underlying language ability takes months of consistent work. Be sceptical of anyone promising a specific band by a specific date — the test is designed to resist that.
Academic or General Training — which do I need?
Academic is required for university admission and most professional registration; General Training is used for many immigration and work routes. Check the exact requirement of the body you are applying to before booking, because the two are not interchangeable.
Do you mark practice writing?
Yes, against the four public band descriptors — task achievement, coherence and cohesion, lexical resource, and grammatical range and accuracy — with the specific reason for the band and what would move it up.
