FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Do you teach the OSSD and AP together?
Yes. Many Ontario students take AP courses alongside the OSSD, and the two have different demands — OSSD grades are earned across the whole course, while AP comes down to one exam in May. We plan the term so AP revision ramps up without the course grade slipping in the process.
Curriculum is provincial — do you cover mine?
We cover the main provincial curricula: Ontario (OSSD), British Columbia, Alberta including the diploma exams, Quebec's secondary programme and CEGEP-track preparation, and the Atlantic provinces. Tell us the province and grade when you enrol so we match a tutor who knows that specific curriculum.
Do you prepare students for Alberta diploma exams?
Yes — the diploma exams carry 30% of the final grade in the courses that have them, so preparation is planned backwards from the exam window with past papers under timed conditions, not left to the last few weeks of the course.
Can you help with Ontario's Grade 10 literacy requirement?
We support the reading and writing skills the OSSLT assesses — inference, summarising, and the short and long writing tasks. For students who take the OSSLC course route instead, we can support that coursework as well.
Do you tutor in French for immersion students?
We have French tutors who work with immersion and Core French students, including students studying other subjects in French. Tell us whether you need French as a subject or subject content taught in French — they call for quite different tutors.
What about university admission averages?
Ontario admissions typically use the top six Grade 12 U/M courses, and other provinces have their own formulas. Because the average is built from a handful of courses, targeted work on one or two weak subjects usually moves it more than spreading effort evenly — which is how we prioritise lessons.
